David Jones
Pastor
David grew up in Anderson, SC, in the shadow of the textile mill where his father worked as plant manager. In the mill village he learned about hard work, league softball, church picnics, neighborhood hospitality, and front porch story tellers. At age nineteen, David got his first job running a church youth program and took his father’s work ethic and sense of the southern parish into the pastorate. Along the way, he met Carrie Richards from Ada, Michigan and convinced her to give up cold winters for hot summers and join him on the coast of South Carolina. David has served Macland as pastor since August 1, 2016. He and Carrie live in Powder Springs with their children, Cayla (a Senior at Berry College), Abbie (a Senior at Hillgrove High), and Nathan (a Hillgrove High Freshman). David is the author of eight books and collections. David’s professional history is available on Linkedin. More about David’s books can be found at www.amazon.com/author/dwjones
